Description:

The renewed European Partnership for Integration signed by the European Commission,  the ETUC and other European Social and Economic partners in September 2020 offers opportunities for migrants and refugees to integrate the European Labour Market.

According to the signatories of this Partnership, the labour market integration of migrants and refugees through better skill development is key to making the European labour markets more inclusive and contributing to European societies' prosperity and cohesion in the long run.

Objectives:            

  • Contributing to the European Partnership for Integration

  • Providing guidance and counselling to migrant workers and refugees in their efforts to develop their skills, competencies and qualification

  • Promoting the inclusion and non-discrimination of migrant workers and refugees in the labour market

Learning outcomes:

  • to become aware of trade unions’ active role in the labour market integration of migrant workers or refugees during this ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

  • be equipped with knowledge and skills required for providing skill development guidance and counselling to migrant workers or refugees

  • to develop trade union measures and actions for the inclusion and non-discrimination of migrant workers or refugees in the labour market

Participants

  • TU officers or TU representatives who are working for migrant workers or refugees

  • TU officers or TU representatives in sectors where migrant workers or refugees are likely to be employed

  • TU officers or TU representatives who are interested in exploring the issue of migration
