Background

Gérard Valenduc is an associate professor of social sciences at the Universities of Namur (UNamur) and Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL). He has a Ph.D. in computer science. He specialised in research on the human and social dimension of technological changes. Until 2016 he was a co-director of the Research Centre of the Foundation FTU (Fondation Travail-Université, Namur), whose activities are now integrated in the Chair Labour-University at UCL, within the Open Faculty for Economic and Social Policy. His research and publications address changes in work linked to the diffusion of information and communication technologies, changes in occupations and work organisation (including the gender dimension), digital skills, digital inclusion, relations between research, innovation and society.
